We’ve been in need of new coasters for a while now. But money’s always a problem, and really, most coasters I saw out there were too much, too extravagant, or just too blah for my taste. And then I came across this tutorial to make some simply cute and affordable coasters I could make myself!

So, a quick trip to Home Depot, to get a few paint samples and four ceramic tiles, and then a trip to Michael’s, to get Mod Podge, felt, and spray acrylic, a few days, and now I have four new coasters! Hurray!

I’ve always been a bit scared of sewing in zippers - I’m terrified that it’s going to get caught in the foot of my sewing machine and break it! But this seems pretty easy to make, and of course you don’t have to make it for earbuds. Add it to your keys and keep some change in there for those times you get stuck at the parking meter, or add a clip to it and use it for adding your key to if you go out walking.

I love this idea. I’ll have to make it soon; it’d be great to have my earbuds at hand to use with my iphone, neat and away, instead of tangled with the rest of the junk in my bag.
